ARS GREEN STEEL

Leading India’s Zero Emission Steel Mission
Through Sustainable Manufacturing

WHAT IS

Green steel is produced using eco-friendly methods that reduce carbon emissions, without using fossil fuels like coal or petroleum products. The Government of India’s net-zero emissions target by 2070 places green steel at its core. India is pioneering the definition of Green Steel with a clear taxonomy, classifying steel based on emission intensity.

ARS Steel proudly exceeds the highest 5-star rating, establishing itself as India’s lowest-emission steel manufacturer, recognized by national and international green certification bodies.

What is

Green Steel Taxonomy?

India is the first nation globally to establish a formal framework for defining and categorizing green steel. The green steel taxonomy released by Ministry of Steel, introduces a star-rating system based on the emission intensity of steel production:

• 3 STAR GREEN-RATED STEEL: Emission intensity between 2.0 and 2.2 tCOe/tfs.
• 4 STAR GREEN-RATED STEEL: Emission intensity between 1.6 and 2.0 tCOe/tfs.
• 5 STAR GREEN-RATED STEEL: Emission intensity below 1.6t COe/tfs.
